Welcome to "It's a Process: A Blog About Life, Running, and Everything in Between"
I'm happy to say that it is finally happening. I've had the idea of starting this blog for a very long time, but I just never got around to it. Don't hate...life happens! About a week ago right before I actually began putting this website together I knew it was time. I figured in the midst of a Coronavirus Pandemic where the world could be ending according to multiple news outlets, there was not a better time to start.
I don't want to scare you, but I really don't have much blogging experience. Let's just say that I have written slightly more blogs than a lot of people. In my time at Lafayette, I wrote ONE blog for The Odyssey titled, "Learning Lessons on the Field." Writing that article was an outlet for me to cope with losing the ability to play a game that I knew would be ending in my life very soon due to my recurring concussion issues.
Here is the link if you want to check it out
Please, do not be alarmed that I have little blogging experience. I actually won article of the week for "Learning Lessons on the Field" in my brief stint writing for The Odyssey. I'm basically a one hit wonder in the blogging world so if you haven't heard of my return to the world wide web yet, you probably will soon. If it was not for this damn Coronavirus taking over the world, I'd already have my own headlining segment airing on GMA or the Today Show...JK!!!!
So enough of my bragging. Let's get to the big question that everyone is wondering...What am I going to write about? To answer this question, lets break down the title of the blog.
"It's a Process: A Blog About Life, Running, and Everything in Between"
1) Life: I am going to write about the process that has shaped me into the person I am today. This includes, but is not limited to my weight loss and physical/mental transformation along with anything that I think can be applicable or noteworthy to any person striving to become a better version of themselves.
The journey from a 340 pound football player to 200 pound marathon runner is definitely something not everyone experiences, but I believe the lessons I learned throughout the process can help anyone chasing any goal that they desire.
2) Running: If you do not like running, do not be alarmed. My goal of discussing running in the blog is to not try and turn you into a runner. There may be the occasional race review for all my fellow run junkies (gotta give the people what they want), but I am mostly going to use the metaphor of my experiences through running to help you achieve your goals. Running a marathon became a goal of mine, but it does not have to be one of yours to get something from my writing. In order to run a marathon or lose weight which are two tasks I have accomplished, you need to have discipline (along with many other characteristics) just like any goal you may want to achieve.
3) Everything in Between: My primary goal of this blog is to inspire you to become a better version of yourself. With that being said, if I see something or experience anything in my life that I feel can motivate someone, I am going to blog about it. This is kinda my free for all category...Quotes, news stories, videos, movies etc. Anything goes here!
I am very lucky in the respect that I was able to lose 140 pounds. While anyone can achieve weight loss, I understand that it is an extremely difficult task...just like anything that is worth striving for in the world! I want to help people achieve their dreams and I feel I can do this through my blog.
So what do you say...Did I convince you to start reading? Hopefully the answer is YES and if so, welcome to "It's a Process: A Blog About Life, Running, and Everything in Between"
