The day is finally here...well actually tomorrow, but you guys know what I mean! Tomorrow I begin my attempt at running 100 miles on a quarter mile track over the course of one weekend. I'll only be running during the daylight due to the track hours, but this should give me a solid 12 hours each day. There's so much to consider like clothing, hydration, and fuel for this ultramarathon challenge, but I couldn't be more excited!
I feel ready, but there's only so much you can do when training for an ultra distance. My longest "long" run to date has been 27 miles and my highest weekly mileage has been right around 80. So if you do the math, I'm adding twenty miles to that over the course of one weekend.
This challenge is going to take me to places I've never gone before. I know there's going to be a lot of physical/mental highs and lows on this 400 lap journey, but we all grow through suffering.
