Chasing Perfection

Perfection...is it attainable?

Here's the correct answer: NO

Perfection is the condition, state, or quality of being free or as free as possible from all flaws or defects. Being flawless is impossible, but this doesn't mean that we can't chase perfection.

I wake up every day and I make my bed. Do I make it perfect? No

I put on my running shoes everyday and head out the door. Do I have a perfect run? No

I try to write the perfect blog everyday to help as many people as possible, but does this happen? No

I do my best to make the perfect decision, but do I slip up? Yes

These facts don't stop me though from waking up everyday determined to be the best version of myself.

Perfection isn't possible. There's going to be times when life gets hard. There's going to be times when you mess up. Despite these facts of life, this doesn't mean that we give up and stop chasing perfection. We don't need to be perfect to reach our goals. We need to be consistent. We need to get up everyday and do our best to be the best possible people we can be. Trying your best everyday is what it means to be perfect. You're not going to get perfect results, but you will make progress towards your dreams if you wake up everyday ready to handle the adversity of life to the best of your ability.

Perfection may seem like it makes people happy. When you go on social media and you see someone that you think is perfect, they're not. They have flaws just like everyone else, but this is the world we live in today. The thing that truly makes people happy is progress. When we make progress towards our goals it shows that our chase of perfection is working. When you do your best to make the decisions to put you on the path of perfection, knowing that you occasionally will slip up, you'll be met with excellence at some point along the way!
