Canada to Connecticut: A 260 Mile Run to Fight Hunger in Greater Hartford Supporting Foodshare
I'm so excited to announce that my cousin, Jordan Tucker, and I have teamed up with Foodshare which is Greater Hartford's regional food bank connecting surplus food to 280 partner food pantries, meal programs, and Mobile Foodshare sites.
Beginning on June 12, my cousin and I will be running 260 miles from the US/Canada border at the Beecher Falls, Vermont border crossing and finishing at Foodshare's office in Bloomfield, CT. Our goal is to finish in a week which means we will hopefully be done Thursday June 18th.
I'd like to thank Picky Bars so far for their support helping fuel us on our run. Picky Bars is an amazing endurance fueling company and if you're interested in checking them out visit https://pickybars.com/pages/our-story. We will be running around 40 miles a day so their help is greatly appreciated.
I'm so excited to have teamed up with Foodshare in these difficult times for so many people. It's going to be a very difficult physical challenge, but it will definitely be worth it for such a great non-profit. They have been serving Greater Hartford for 35 years and they collect and distribute nearly 12 million meals worth of food each year through a network of partner programs.
We will have more details of the run as we get closer to June 12, but there will be daily updates each day on my blog, social media, and podcast!
