Believe in Yourself

The mind is the strongest muscle in our bodies. It can tear us down or it can allow us to reach unimaginable heights. If you don’t believe that you can accomplish what you want in your life, I can guarantee you that it won’t happen. The flip side of this is that if you do believe in yourself and connect your body and mind together the possibilities are endless.

I thought of the idea for this blog on the golf course yesterday. Let me start this paragraph off by saying that I’m not a good golfer, but I had an average round this week. I was on the eighth hole of the course and I had a double par. See NOT GOOD! I couldn’t hit a straight shot to save my life and with every bad shot came more negative thoughts popping into my head. The next hole things didn’t get much better because I was thinking about messing up. I didn’t think I was going to hit a good shot and that showed in my performance. My game wasn’t fixed until I started talking positively to myself. I said I’m going to have a nice shot and everything started improving.

I didn’t have a great shot every time the rest of the day, but I began to believe in my ability to get the job done. My experience on the golf course applies in life. If you want something, you have the ability to attain it and reach your wildest dreams. This is only possible though if you believe in yourself and know that eventually you’re going to reach your goals.

We need to believe in ourselves because as I mentioned yesterday in my blog, there is greatness in all of us. In order to find greatness though, we need to believe in our ability to get the job done. If you don’t believe in yourself, it doesn’t matter who else believes in you. They can’t do the work for you. I know there’s been a time in your life when someone said “you can do it” but you failed because you didn’t truly believe in yourself. I say it all the time: It doesn’t matter who you sleep next to every night because in the end of the day we all sleep alone. You know yourself better than anyone in the world so YOU have the lone power to control your actions and do what it takes to reach your dreams!

What are your thoughts? I‘d love to hear! Comment below, send me an email or reach out on social media.
